Kora Kagaz Tha Man Mera played on Flute by Sablu Mukesh

Arre Sablu-ji, Aap hain kya?! For a minute I thought Dr. Saab is playing the flute! Aap unse flute kab cheen liya?! I am sure he will be thrilled with your rendering and wil give you distinction! I am not qualified to rate your rendering, but I enjoyed it thoroughly! I also have an amateur's flute lying with me which doesn't co-operate with me when I want to play! Maybe it doesn't know how to play! But tell me, where were you hiding your flute all these days?! 'Pahadi' sounded so 'cool' on your flute!
'Haathon-mein flute tere milne-se pehle
Tere sur  mere kaanon-se milne-se pehle
Kahan thi yeh baatein, aise talents, aise blog-ein!
Aapne to 'Kora Kagaz'-mein apna poora 'stamp' chod diya!!

FLUTE : JAB DEEP JALE AANA (FILM : CHITCHOR)

Dear Dr. Kamath,
Your flute sound was really sweet and nice and as pleasant as the film itself-- and its songs! Surprisingly you have missed to mention about Yesudas when talking of 'Chitchor'. I love those 3 films made by Basu Chatterjee  - 'Rajnigandha', 'Chhoti-si Baat' and 'Chitchor', all with Amol Palekar who played the 'middle-class' simple guy with a class of his own! The finest and my most favourite was the first one, but the second one was more hilarious and the the third one was musically the best of the three. I may attempt a review of one of the three films, mostly the second one.
All the great artistes of India seem to be drawn by your flute sound and land up wherever you are playing! It is indeed a blessing of Sai Baba and I really feel very happy that you got an oppurtunity to play in front of such a great artiste like Pt. Jasraj-ji! I heartily wish you more such occasions in the future!
My sincere 'pranam's to my 'music guru-on-line' (You, Who else?!) and thank you for all the musical inspirations that you give through your postings, on this auspicious occasion of 'Guru-Poornima'!

Senior Citizens -US Model and History

Dear Sivaram-ji,
Your article is a grim pointer on the plight of Senior Citizens in India. You are very right in saying that peripheral concessions such as in Railway pass etc. do not uplift their quality of living. And with the mounting inflation rate and declining family values, the scenario is indeed pathetic! I wonder why the Social Security did not come into implementation in India. Our politicians are too busy squabbling over their own SS (Seat Security!). Your inclusion of Talat song poignantly highlights the helplessness of an average Indian Senior Citizen , who has no recourse to go with his grievances and takes succor in the theory of 'Karma'! After reading your post, even young readers may dread to grow any more older!
A salute to your social awareness and sensitivity!

Bahut bahut mubarak ho on your splendid century on sulekha.com! 
But curiously this must have been your first blog without any musical attachment! Waise you are a good writer and a good singer too, but what is unique about your postings are the lovely flute or mouth-organ or the synthesizer rendering you attach which has been a source of listening pleasure to many sulekha-ites like me!

Your ever-green enthusiasm reminds me of Dev Anand! To phir Isi baat-par, kuch 4 lines pesh karta hoon borrowing from an old Dev Anand song as my humble salute to your artistry and the 'audio-delights' you have been providing to us:

'Sulekha-ke bloggon-par madhur jhankaar tumhi-se hai
Aur yeh haseen jalwa, yeh mast bahar tumhi-se hai!
Sau blogs pehle main aapka fan tha, main aapka fan tha

Thandi Hawa Ye Chandini: Sung by Sablu Mukesh

Kya baat hai Sablu-ji! This is my all-time favourite KK song! I had been missing to hear this since a long time, but you refreshed my memories. The song has a unique breezy air about it that one really enjoys humming this when in a relaxed mood! You sang marvellously!
Aapka singing to achha tha hi, lekin aapka humming aur yodelling bhi lajawab tha! Mazaa aa gaya! But I don't know why the audio was getting interrupted and I had to press 'Play' repeatedly. Could be some system speed at my end. Anyway I could not get up till I could hear your rendering fully .Your voice bound me to my seat like a golden chain and really 'Sunke 'chain' mujhe mil gaya'!

FLUTE : BHAJAN : PAYOJI MAINE RAM RATAN (A MUST LISTEN)

Wah! Dr. Saab! Aap to aajkal 'Krishna Kanhaiyya' bante jaa rahen hain murli baja bajake!
I like this bhajan. I remember haveing heard Lata Mangeshkar and also Anup Jalota singing. What to say about your flute? You again poured honey on my ears!
Well I focussed on the 'ghungroo' sounds. I don't think you would have worn on your legs and created such rhythm! You may be multi-talented but I don't think you can dance well also, murli bajaake! So my guess is that first you recorded the table background and shaking 'ghungroo' with hands and then used that as karoke for your flute rendering! (Am I a good 'jasoos'?! ). Or simply you had somebody to assist you with the 'ghungroo's! Jo bhi tha khuda-ki kasam lajawab tha!
My sincere wishes for the new Sai Baba temple to come up soon and bless all. Also Congrats to you for the fruits of your noble endeavours!

FLUTE : YE KYA HUWA : FAMOUS KISHORE KUMAR SONG (FILM : AMAR PREM)

Dear Kamath Saheb!
The song sounded a bit different, but definitely very very nice in your flute! I love the sound of flute and you had played it seamlessly shrill with uniform intensity throughout, so it was like honey flowing in ears!
Rajesh Khanna suited the half-drunk 'babu' role of 'Amar Prem'. I remember his famous line in the film 'Pushpa, Ro mat, I hate tears'!
Sivaram-ji had rightly mentioned that 'Amar Prem' had the 3 very popular great solos by Kishore and a lovely solo by Lata ('Bada natkhat hai Krishna Kanhaiyya--'). But let us not forget the touching solo by the Great Senior Burman-Da in the film - 'Doli-mein bithaike--' which was a great tune composed lovingly by the son for his father to sing! The song did not become as popular as SDB's other memorable songs from his own composed films like 'O re maajhi' , 'Sun mere bandhure' and of course 'Wahan kaun hai tera'!

‘O Mehbooba—‘ – Mukesh and me!

Thank you for the kind remarks!
I am also nostalgic about 'Sangam' more for my first outside view of Apsara which I found fascinating when it was new! My father told 'Sangam' is an adult movie and did not take us. He told just see the theatre and poster from outside and move on quietly! I saw the film only somewhere in 90s when it was revived at a nearby theatre. Yes, I would like to see it again and review as well sometime!
I am glad you liked my comment on Naval-ji's review of your short story! It was just 'dil-ki-baat' as it is!
