Badhiya, Bahut badhiya, Sablu-bhai! Yeh to mera bhi most most favourite KK song hai! I just love this song! I liked 'Zehreela Insaan'( a re-make of a Kannada hit, it flopped in Hindi)particularly for this song.It had a moustached Rishi Kapoor singing (I think for the first time in KK's voice) with Moushumi swaying rythmically in slow motion. The song was mesmerising! Aapne phir wohi experience re-create kar diya! Both the guitar and your vocal were just fantastic!Only a small thing, I feel for such romantic songs, you can be little soft on the pronounciation to make it sound light and easy. Just my feeling. Otherwise, undoubtedly you hit a sixer again! Do keep it up! Cheers! S.V.Nathan.
27464 accesses?? Baap re Baap?! Dr. Saab,Raj Kapoor-ko koi 'Greatest Showman' kahe ya na kahe, main aapko 'Greatest Showman of sulekha.com' zaroor kahoonga! Ab aapko 'Dev Anand' kahoon ya 'Raj Kapoor' kahoon samajh-mein nahi aa raha hai! I again went back to your blog and enjoyed it again! Keep going like this and I wish you more record-breaking and gold medals in all the events of 'sulekha-Olympics' Cheers! S.V.Nathan.
dear sampat-ji, That was a very amusing narration of 'Ayodhya khanda' to your grandson! The oil painting was fantastic. It fully brings out the innocence and mischief of lil' Navkrut. I shudder to think of the time you have to describe the 'Kurukshetra' episode when you have to narrate 'Mahabharata' to him! Regards, S.V.Nathan.
Fantastic blog, Sivaram-Ji! I admire the way you come up with timely postings on a wide variety of topics. This one was a great curtain-riser on the Olympics and stirred up the eagerness. You have given the Bird's eye-view of the Bird's nest with some great photoes and interesting tit-bits about its outspoken architect, the mammoth expense figures, the pollution problem etc. The smog factor is indeed a dampener. I wonder whether the American athletes would dare to take off their face masks at least during the games! Kudos! Enjoyed this one thoroughly! Regards, S.V.Nathan.
Dear Sablu-ji,
Today was Kishore Kumar's 72nd birthday and you have given the KK fans of sulekha a wonderful gift of your rendering. Your voice has considerably sharpened over the last few renderings. This one had the same depth and polish as the original and it was almost as if I was listening to KK himself! I enjoyed it more since just 2 weeks back I had seen 'Saagar' on TV and liked RDB's music in it.
In short, your rendering was simply superb!
I am still thinking, 'Sablu hai kya, Kishore-ne gaaya'!
Cheers!
S.V.Nathan.
Dr.Saab!
Yeh aapne kya kar diya! Jhaam bharke pila diya! Mere jaise tea-totaller ko 'Pahadi Bewda' banaa diya!! Thank you so so so much for dedicating this flute tune to me! I feel honoured by your gesture.Thank you!
The tune was as lilting and as refreshing as it can be. The 'nasha' was equivalent to four pegs, though I have not quite experienced 'that' kind of 'nasha'. I read sablu-ji's comments and I am amazed at this telepathy between 'Guru' and 'Shishya'!
BTW your title 'Parbaton-pe---' little puzzled me. but i am reminded of few 'Parbat' songs and I am curious to know whether they are also based on 'Pahadi' raaga.
One is a duet with Rafi in male playback - 'Parbaton-ke gheron-par shaam-ka basera ho, surmayi ujala ho, reshmi andhera ho'. I don't know which film, but a nice-sounding song which appears to be composed by Khayyam Saab. Another one in 'Betaab', Sunny Deol's debut film, a pleasant song by Rafi-sound-alike Shabbir Kumar composed by RDB - 'Parbaton-se aaj main takra gaya, Tumne di awaaz lo main aa gaya'.
Anyway let me stop here and listen to your flute again. Maybe tomorrow morning I may sing,
'Kamath-ji ke flute sunte rahe saari raat hum, Aap ki kasam, Aap ki kasam'!
Thanks and Cheers!
S.V.Nathan.
Dear Sivaram,
Thank you so much for the comments! Your feedback is always a delight to me and something I look forward eagerly! You have filled in with some interesting tit-bits. I had always thought that 'Ramaiyya Vastavaiyya--' was thought of by Shankar first since he was from Hyderabad. It is amusing to note that Jaikishen went after the construction worker to 'catch' the precious tune!
It will be indeed a honour for my reviews to find a small section in your future book, as you say! I will look forward for that day!
Best Regards,
S.V.Nathan.
DEAR SMAPAT-JI,
Thank you so much for the appreciation! I am glad you found it enjoyable.

Dear Dr.Sandeep,
Thank you so much for your comments!
I also like Khalid Mohammed's reviews which are more entertaining than the films themselves. But what stirred my interest in film reviews right from school-days was S.J.Banaji's reviews in Filmfare. He was very stingy with his ratings and used to tear apart the average Hindi film. Every review was a scream and though I didn't see many Hindi movies that time, I used to religiously read Banaji's reviews! I think Khalid Mohammed is also largely inspired by him, like I am getting inspired by both of them! I should consider myself lucky, if my reviews sound at least one-tenth as interesting as those of such professional writers!
I am so glad you enjoyed my matinee show! Thanks for joining and cheering!
Cheers!

Thank you, Sampat-ji! Delighted to receive your comment as the first one. First comment is always as thrilling as first anything!
