Hi Kalpita,
Nice song! Thanks for bringing it back to our memory!
Great to know that Shamshad Begum is at Hiranandani, Powai and is doing fine! She had a unique voice, which was fully utilized by Naushad and O.P.Nayyar.
Convey the regards of this humble fan of hers, if you happen to come across her!

Dear Dr.Kamath-ji,
I listened to your 'Man tadpat—' yesterday night. I thought of commenting immediately but I didn't want to disturb myself from the mood it generated, so I just listened again quietly. There was tranquility in the air! It was blissful listening to your flute and the tempura tones enhanced the meditative atmosphere! The immortal bhajan created by Shakeel Badhayuni, Naushad and Mohammed Rafi truly symbolizes secularism in

Dr.Saab!
Aapka itna zabardast comment padhke mujhe aisa laga ki main 'Teesri Manzil' bhi paar karke terrace-pe aa gaya hoon, as a blogger! Itna bhi mat chadaaiye ki main khushi-se yahan-se khood jaoon! (JJ -Just Joking!)
Really I feel gratified to elicit such fantastic appreciative words from you. While writing itself, I knew that you are going to enjoy it and re-live your own memories of this 'mazedaar' movie!
BTW, Thanks for imagining(!) that I am a successful engineer! I am an engineer alright, but I don't know whether 'successful'!
It was sad to know about the situation in which Shammi Kapoor had to shoot for the last and best song of the film.
Thanks for the suggestion to write to sulekha for featuring my blog. But I feel hesitant about self-promotion, and frankly till date, I haven't understood how a blog gets featured or what are the criteria! Chhodiye, Aapko to mazaa aaya na?
Mogambo (sorry!) khush hua to mujhe aur kya chhahiye?!
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.
Holy Cow, Sampath-Ji! You gave me the sh-'udders' when you made me imagine the unthinkable prospect of Arumugam, the vet officer coming to impregnate the cows!
Hilarious blog, very witty (what is the ratio of reality to imagination?!) and a little poignant towards the end. It was sad - not the scrapping of your excel sheet, not even your diary farm not taking off as expected --- but Vaishnavi's end! I guess I will never make a good business-man, going by your fifth principle! Even I don't approve of your third principle. It is not just fair! I fully endorse Beena-ji's value-based business policies!
Now bring on the hens! Hope they might not need the services of Arumugam!
Regards
S.V.Nathan.
Breath-takingly refreshing photos, Sundeep-ji!
It cooled the eyes and brain for some time!
Your in-laws house reminded me of my grandparents' house in Kerala.
With such a change of environment, no wonder you were not in a hurry to return!
Thanks for taking us also along to Bisalkoppa, though for a few minutes!
regards,
S.V.Nathan.
Bahut khoob! Bahut badhiya, Dr. Saheb!
Your voice was crystal clear and extra smooth. The golden quality of your voice shone clearly in absence of karoke which could be sometimes distracting. The harmonium interlude was also very very nice! Compared to your previous songs, mujhe lagta hai ki aapne aur zara khulke gaaye hain is baar, phir bhi aur bhi zara khulke gaaye to aur bhi zara mazaa aayega!
This Mukesh number is my favourite too, but I never got to see 'Yahudi'. Also thanks for the interesting details about the movie which I didn't know before.
Yunhi gaate rahiye hardam!
Regards,
S.V.Nathan
Three cheers for the thrills of ‘Teesri Manzil ‘! – ‘Matinee with me’
Thank you, Sablu-ji for the great feedback as well the interesting episode about 'O Mere Sona re'! Like his father, RDB also was greatly inspired by folk music , which he often packaged beautifully in film songs! Nice to have you back in singing form! I will visit your latest song shortly.
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.
