 Hi Nathan,
I commented on sur and taal. I forgot to comment on your voice.
Frankly, you have a singing voice. Charming. But training is a must. With karaoke, you would sound immensely better, because firstly you will practise with it too.
I don't recommend any member to sing a whole song without accompaniment.

Sablu-ji,
Dil khush hua aapke comment padhke! I assume you are telling the truth!
Anyway, it was a modest attempt. I am not formally trained in singing, so there could be lot of flaws. I just love old melodies and keep singing to myself. But if good friends like you can tolerate it, I would try to sing more whenever I get the right mood and inspiration. (See, I am already talking like a seasoned singer!)
Bahut bahut dhanyawaad aapke achhe achhe comments-ke liye!
Nathan.

Gopal Saar,
Thanks again for visiting and for the valuable tips.
Well, I tried Karoke once but could not match the pace of the background music. More than singing, I felt as if i am running to catch the 8.42 Churchgate local!
Anyway, can you tell me the name of the Karoke site that is available for 149 Rs. or something?
Regards,
Nathan.

Thank you Naval-ji,
I am delighted that you liked my 'nervous' attempt in singing! I thought being a little 'nervous', a Talat song would fit in, so that any change in my tones would be 'mistaken' for those 'velvety vibrations' that Talat used to produce from his throat!
Regards,
Nathan.

Hi Nathan,
You have good sur and taal. Some practice would further help. PL get a karaoke. Without backgroung music, no full gana can really be heard. Your real forte is in music-knowledge.

Dear Friend SUBRAMANIAM VISWANATHAN

I heard this song twice. Enjoyed it both the times, with increasing pleasure.
I am also fan of Dr. Kamath and his flute.

Dear Nathan-Ji,

Awesome!Awesome! Awesome!

Enjoyed very very very much your wonderful rendition of song Jalte hai Jiske liye.

Maafi chahata hoon. I was on off-line since Friday evening. I will not be available on Sat and Sun on online. Just, today morning, I saw your note and enjoyed your awesome rendition. Ho sake for being late please excuse me.

Is geet ka jawab nahin. Bahut hi khusurat gaaya hai aapne. Aapne mera dil khus kar diya.

Kahan aap apne itne sweet aur excellent awaaz ko chupa kar rakhe the janab. Sing and sing. Keep on practicing. It’s never late.  Your voice is awesome and moreover you have excellent control in your variations, tunes and vocal chord. To aap  bada chupa rustam nikle. Wonderful.

 God bless your talents.

 Regards,

Mukesh

Dear Dr.Kamath Saab,
Thank you 'very (to the power of infinity!)' much for your appreciative comments! I feel as if I have stood blind-folded at the crease and hit a 'Shoaib Akhtar delivery' for a six, just by fluke! Though I will take your compliments with few pinches of salt, I can feel that you genuinely liked (or at least tolerated) my rendering! Considering my lack of formal trainining in singing, you have given me more than just grace marks! Your valuable tips, I will take raw without salt and try to follow for my future vocal 'onslaughts' in sulekha!
Thank you again,
Regards,

S.V.Nathan.

Dear Shri Nathan Saab,

WELCOME TO SULEKHA SINGING WORLD. YOUR RESULT IS OUT. HOLD YOUR BREATH. NOW DO NOT SHAKE ON THAT CHAIR UNTIL YOU FINISH READING MY BELOW COMMENT.

Thanks for dedicating this lovely soulful SDB song to me. It goes without saying this is one of my most favorite songs ever. Let me first congratulate you. You have done a very good job. In fact, you have put the soul into the song so as to justify the lyrics. Excellent! You have a mellow voice like me and with some more practice you will sing even better. Aap Ne Sablu jaisi Guru Ki Laaj Rakhi!

Only thing I found that some times transition from one note to next note is not smooth. But this can be corrected a you practice more and more.

I also feel that had you used Karaoke in the background the song would have sounded much better. But it is okay, you meticulously tried to put interludes from the original song. Try to find some Karaokes for selected songs that you decide to song from the list I suggested in my earlier comment to  your previous blog. You may find Karaoke nusic in the site that Gopal Jee had mentioned once where they charge Rs. 149 per month and they have Karaokes for 3500 songs.

Another surprsing part in your rendition was you absolutely have no "madrasi" accent unlike I have somewhat. And this I attribute to you due to being born in Mumbai and not Tamilnadu or any one of the 4 southern states. So in this accent business, you do not have to worry. You are perfect there.

So you have joined the Sulekha Singing Club. The credit goes to V.S.Gopal Jee who is inspiring lots of Sulekhites to come forward to sing on Sulekha. Please present some more songs on Sulekha. I am sure Sulekhites are enjoying your songs.

So Long! and CHEERS! CONGRATULATIONS!

Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Sivaram-ji,
This is really a great encouragement from you! It boosts my spirit! You sure know how to motivate! Anyway I would like to believe that you 'really' liked my rendering and I intend to repeat more such 'experiments' on you! Don't blame me, You asked for it!
Warm Regards,
Nathan.
