Dear Friend SUBRAMANIAM VISWANATHAN.

We were used to sing the songs of Tisari Manzil while going to and coming from school. Such was the craze for Shammi Kappor's songs.

Dear Nathan Sir,
Thanks as usual for correcting me. I never fail to get amazed by your encyclopedic knowledge of hindi film songs.

Thank you, Sablu-ji for the great feedback as well the interesting episode about 'O Mere Sona re'! Like his father, RDB also was greatly inspired by folk music , which he often packaged beautifully in film songs! Nice to have you back in singing form! I will visit your latest song shortly.
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.

Dear Nathan-ji,

Enjoyed once again to go through your lovely info on Teesri Manzil. Your excellent write-up on this movie has brought my past remembrance of this concerned cinema. I appreciate your painstaking research on this brilliant compilation which is your marvellous creation and first of its kind of this style about narrating so beautifully of golden era hit movies in Sulekha.  You also covered much about RD Burman’s creation. No doubt, Panchamda was a great and a versatile in music’s creation. And moreover, after Chote Nawab of early 60s success in his very early music career, I think Teesri Manzil was threshold success in his later music career which won the heart of Shammi Kapoor and millions of cinema viewers and music lovers. I saw this movie a long back may be in the year 1985 when I may be in school days so I forgot the story but I love all the awesome songs of this particular film. And very recently, I rendered one its best songs Deewana Mujsa Nahin which I love the most of Rafi’s rendition and another I also love very much Tumne Mujhe Dekha Hokar Meharban. Aaja aaaja is quite twisting, pop, rock and wonderful for jumping and dancing which had been a favorite fun and style of SK. Ashaji was quite fabulous and glamorous actress in those days. It was interesting to listen once in radio from Vividh Bharti broadcast from my favorite music director Rahul Dev Burman passed recording of year 70s. He narrated that once he was on his tour towards tea garden side near Darjeeling and he was very soulfully listening one flute piece based on folk song of West Bengal which was excellently played by some unknown player in the isolated and rural area of tea garden. He immediately collected the tune and rendered while walking in the area. The marvellous tune was later very brilliantly composed by RD and the song was O mere Sona Re.  Nice to know this movie was directed by Vijayanand which I was ignorant of this matter. I love the same combination of MD, RD Burman, lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri and producer Nazir Hussain in film Hum Kise se Kum Nahin but it was quite different version of 70s. Again in film Manzil Manzil of 80s. Thanks a lot Nathan-bhai for posting very lovely blog.

Excuse me for my late reply as you know my absence in Sulekha on weekends. And I am sorry to say I could not listen anything in your attached song file may be sound technical problem.

Enjoy my latest song  Pal Pal Dil ke Pass from the link which I have rendered after my soon recovery from illness .

Dear SVN

Thanks for the information. I would read all the blogs asap. Madhumati and Guide are my all time fav movies. I like Anand too. After reading the blog on TM (matinee series) I am sure the rest of the blog would be equally entertaining.

It is so nice of you to consider me a pal on Sulekha. Can't thank you enough for the same. Congratulations on completing three years on Sulekha.

More power to your pen !!!  Cheers and Regards.

Dear my utterances,
Thank you for visiting my matinee show and enjoying it! Maybe the audio-file which I attached as an after-thought is low in volume. It is just some karoke background music of the film's songs which I had added for some 'sound effect'!
This my fourth movie review. I think you missed to see my earlier ones on ‘Anand’, ‘Guide’ and ‘Madhumati’. So you can visit the following links at your leisure, but don’t skip your daily routine for this, as I did to watch ‘Teesri Manzil’!
Also few days back on the occasion of my completing 3 years in sulekha, I wrote a piece (with a song to boot!) acknowledging all my dear sulekha friends including you! I am sorry I missed to notify you then.
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.

OMG!! You remember every bit of it so well !  I believe that you would have enjoyed the movie thoroughly, else you couldn't have penned the minutest of details of the matinee show of Teesri Manzil.  And like the concept too. This is novel.  Is this the first post of the 'matinee show' series? I wouldn't like to miss any.  The flow in narration is amazing.  I couldn't check the audio attachment. It didn't play. Thanks and Regards.

Dr.Saab!
Aapka itna zabardast comment padhke mujhe aisa laga ki main 'Teesri Manzil' bhi paar karke terrace-pe aa gaya hoon, as a blogger!  Itna bhi mat chadaaiye ki main khushi-se yahan-se khood jaoon! (JJ -Just Joking!)
Really I feel gratified to elicit such fantastic appreciative words from you. While writing itself, I knew that you are going to enjoy it and re-live your own memories of this 'mazedaar' movie!
BTW, Thanks for imagining(!) that I am a successful engineer! I am an engineer alright, but I don't know whether 'successful'!
It was sad to know about the situation in which Shammi Kapoor had to shoot for the last and best song of the film.
Thanks for the suggestion to write to sulekha for featuring my blog. But I feel hesitant about self-promotion, and frankly till date, I haven't understood how a blog gets featured or what are the criteria! Chhodiye, Aapko to mazaa aaya na?
Mogambo (sorry!) khush hua to mujhe aur kya chhahiye?!
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.
